If you haven’t noticed (the two people who actually might look at this blog) I’ve added a few links. One of my favorite sites for a good laugh is called Dooce. Apparently, a few years back when blogging was just becoming popular, Heather Armstrong (the creator of Dooce- pronounced deuce) wrote a few things about the place she worked on her blog and then got fired because of her comments. She got a lot of attention for it and her site took off. She now just blogs as a full time job. The reason it continues to be popular is because she is a really funny writer and she always posts really great photographs. I like her style. These are pictures of her office that I really like. One feature I also really like about her blog is once a month she writes a letter to her daughter. You can read one here. I think this is a great idea so that your kids can have them to read when they are older.
FYI: Dooce loves her dogs. I’m not really into pets in general so I usually skip over all dog love posts. Also, Dooce is a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She occasionally makes fun of the church and BYU. However, her family is still members so she is still somewhat respectful.

I bought an owl bank exactly like this one for $2.00 on clearance. Don’t ask me why, but I just love it. It’s not like I’m really into owls or anything. I’m actually afraid to really get “into” anything because once you declare your love for one type of item people will just give it to you for the rest of your life. Eventually you will probably hate it. For instance, my grandma has a chicken farm. I don’t know if she’s particularly fond of chickens but her whole kitchen is chicken themed. If anybody sees something chicken related, they buy it for her. Frankly I would hate that. I mean, doesn’t she see and smell the chickens enough as it is? On a side note, it would be rather convenient to be able to get free eggs anytime you needed them.

Apartment Therapy is the best place to go for pics of loads and loads of well designed spaces. My current fave is this apartment. I want to create accent walls with cool wallpaper.

Check out these cute cards I found at Luxe Paperie. I love the champ one only because that’s what my Grandpa Bellessa always calls me ever since I was a good runner in high school. He rarely calls me by my first name. One time I was on the phone with him and he can’t hear that well so I had to say “This is the champ” about 5 times. He still couldn’t understand me so I said, “This is Melanie.” When he heard that he said, “Well, why didn’t you just say it was the champ?!” I love my grandpa.

I haven’t had cable since I left home 5 years ago except for a brief stint in New York where me and my hubby engaged in watching the Food Network everyday. Therefore, I’ve never been able to watch Bravo which has a little show called Project Runway on it. Okay, it’s not little, it’s really popular but I’ve never seen it (up until three weeks ago that is). That’s where the beloved Denver Library comes into play. They have all three seasons on DVD and yes I’m almost done with season 2. I love it! And unlike other reality shows like American Idol, I have no idea who wins each season so it’s still enjoyable to watch. Today while I was exercising I found myself jumping up in down in anticipation of the DVD player loading so I could watch another episode. If you like fashion at all you should watch it, but be aware a lot of the designs are crazy ugly and it is a fairly girly show.

A couple of my sisters are. I found this website that prints the cutest birth announcements. They are really cute and not time consuming like homemade ones can be. They also have cute holiday cards.

Don’t these just make you happy? They’re made by a German company called Fienedinge. They’re not necessarily affordable, but pretty nonetheless.
FYI: I first saw these on Oh Joy!

I really want a instant polaroid camera. I used to have one that busted a move when I got in a car accident I few years ago. It was the one casualty in the accident, which I’m grateful for, but I’ve been wanting another one ever since. To me no picture, no matter if you’re closing your eyes or not, is ugly when you take it with a polaroid. I would like to hang fun ones up with clothes pins, in an office or under a shelf.
