Katie has been my best friend since I was 12 and we watched Hercules and ate some stale nachos. Katie is one of the most talented and beautiful people I know. Yesterday she got to interview Barack Obama! Love you Kate! Have an amazing day!

Sometimes I wonder where all of my girliness came from. Then I remember I have six older sisters. Ruffles are so hot right now. (This last sentence must be said in a Mugatu voice.)

I can’t stop thinking about the Lost finale. The best part of the entire episode? Desmond and Penny’s reunion! (This picture almost looks as if I’m posting one of my husband and me. Oh no, it’s a picture of a fictional couple. At one time I thought I had a life, I’ve just realized I’ve completely lost it.)

I’m loving the Dan in Real Life soundtrack. It’s my new fave.

I have to tell you- I enthusiastically found, bought and ate Mint Crisp M&Ms last night. I think I got too excited. They’re good, but not “I ate the whole bag” good.

I’m excited that the National Spelling Bee is going to be on TV tonight. Spellbound is one of my all time favorite movies. I just wish Harry was still around.

I’m hoping a copy of Domino is waiting for me in my mailbox.
Yay for Fridays!

I’ve been admiring Thomas Paul pillows for quite some time now, but something tells me that if I came home with a couple of $100 throw pillows, I would be joining those beloved pillows on the couch for a couple of nights. I like the similar pillows I found on Etsy for a lot smaller and forgiveable price. Oh Etsy, what did we ever do without you?

I just found out that Kelly is hosting a Favorite Things Swap. Wow! Could there be a more fitting swap for a person who’s blog is titled You Are My Fave? I just hope the person who gets me doesn’t love Good N Plentys, Kmart and Smash Mouth. Go sign up!

A direct quote from Ryan after painting our table a nice shade of blue (it was in need of an update): “There is absolutely nothing manly about this apartment. It’s like you live here with your gay friend. It’s like we’re Will and Grace.”
I don’t get it. There is absolutely no pink and nothing floral in our apartment. What does he want me to do? Hang a deer head and a gun rack?
Now you be the judge. Is this clock I’ve been eyeing too girly?

Surprise, surprise- I’m only about the katrillinth person who loves New York but this week I’ve been missing it oh so much. What’s the one thing that can cheer me up? Well, a huge cake that is shaped like the Brooklyn Bridge, of course! I wonder if Ace of Cakes made it.

On my next trip to the Tattered Cover I’m definitely going to be looking through the pages of Drive, a photograph collection of drivers. If Andrew Bush would have caught me in my car, this book would be spotting a photo of an awkward white girl singing and dancing along to Wannabe.

I would leave work and go buy this bike. I saw it when we went to pick up some tubing for our bikes and let me tell you, the blue-stiched leather seat is still calling my name. It’s on sale for $300 which I think is very reasonable for a girl who already has a bike and wants a new couch, and a bigger apartment, and a flat screen tv- with cable please, and a vacation, and…

Do you ever read other people’s blogs and think, “Man, they have such a glamourous life. My life dwindles in comparison.” And then you find yourself stealing your co-workers Snak Pak in the refrigerator and sitting in the corner of your office listening to Alanis Morissette?
I wish I had an amazing vacation planned for the weekend so I could slightly rub it in your face but reality is, this weekend will consist of sleeping in, eating food that will surely clog my arteries, dramatically saying “I don’t know what movie to watch!” about ten thousand times, and thinking I’m going to clean but stuffing everything under the couch instead. Am I excited? Heck yes!
This last couple of weeks have been loaded with good posts from other bloggers, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you so you have something to fill your empty schedules with this weekend.
Design Sponge has the best coverage of the National Stationary Show; Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five.
I loooooove this wedding and this wedding. Is anyone getting married? Can I help? (via Frolic)
Jo tipped me off to this artist who sells original prints of different people he sees in NYC. You don’t know who you get until it arrives in the mail!
Yum! Pop-up pancakes sound perfect for the good breakfasts I’m sure to be having all weekend long. (via Design Crush)
These defaced polaroids really amused me.
A list of 44 things we wouldn’t know if there weren’t movies. I especially like #1, #3, #11 and #14.
Have a great weekend! If you’re really lucky, I might post something, but you all lead way too glamourous lives to even care.
