Today I love -

June 30, 2008 // 3 Comments

White bedspreads with colorful blankets. If I actually made by bed this would be a good option. I’ve never been good at making my bed except for that few years when the bed fairy would come. True story- to bribe us my mom (aka the bed fairy) would leave candy on our beds if they were made in the morning. You probably assumed this was when we were 5 or 6, but no, it was when I was in middle & high school. I basically have the best mom ever.

Lock up your mothers, and your grandmothers, and your grandmothers’ mothers. This sexy beast is back on the prowl, and his bite is a fierce one!

The Nest is my fave

// 1 Comment

I stumbled upon The Nest Home Design book at the library and scooped it up. I’ve only seen The Nest magazine once but I thoroughly enjoyed it so I knew the book would be good too. My review- very delightful. Simple, clean, just my style. Here are some of my favorite pages.

I need some of those his and her clocks with mine set about and 1/2 hour early.

My Movie Faves

June 26, 2008 // 1 Comment

Last night we watched Return to Me (a fifty cent library find) and I remembered how much I love that movie. Although I love both David D. and Minnie Driver in it my favorite part is the supporting actors. The old men and Bonnie Hunt and her husband crack me up. That got me to thinking about some of my all time favorite movies. I’m going to share them with you and hope in return, you share some of your faves with me.

Classic

Roman Holiday. Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Rome. Perfect.

The Quintessential Girly Movies

Pride and Prejudice. I never used to be one of those girls. You know that ones that have read P&P thousands of times and dream of marrying a Mr. Darcy. And yet I fell in love with this movie and now might be one of those girls.

Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan, America’s sweethearts. Too bad Meg has now overdone the Botox.

Little Women. I love the relationship between the sisters probably because I have six sisters of my own.

Disney

Aladdin. Abu is favorite character.

Ones guys can appreciate too

Ocean’s Eleven & Sneakers. I just love how clever these ones are. George Clooney and Robert Redford don’t hurt either.

Ones I love because of the memories they evoke although slightly embarrassing

Never Been Kissed. I got to say not really provoking material but the memory of seeing it in the theater three times, falling in love with the English teacher and celebrating Never Been Kissed day makes me still love this one.

National Treasure. Nicolas Cage is so embarrassing but the first time I saw this movie I was so excited that they actually found the treasure that I just wanted it all to be real.

Movies I loved at the time but if I watched them now I might hurl

A Walk to Remember. I was 15 when this movie came out. I loved Mandy Moore. I sobbed during the entire movie. Please, forgive me.

Super Mario Brothers. One of the first movies I saw in the theater. We immediately ran home and played King Koopa vs Mario & Luigi.

I’m bored with myself

June 25, 2008 // 2 Comments

You know what I think is the worst part of PMS? No, not the cramping and the zits that come out of nowhere, it’s how I basically hate myself for about 5 days. I can’t stand to look at my face and everything I do annoys me. I know what you’re thinking, “TMI my friend, TMI!” But isn’t that what blogs are for? To rant and tell people too much about things going on in your life and for some reason you think that people like you enough to care even when you’re as boring as your middle school science videos?

Speaking of PMS, go watch this commercial. I promise you, you’ll walk away from it laughing then have to watch it again later because you’re still thinking about it and laughing.

Getting fun things in the mail is my fave

// 0 Comments

I got this cheerful print in the mail yesterday and let me tell you, it’s even better in person. The art I’ve been ordering online is starting to pile up and will soon be exploding onto my walls. Hooray.

The Sartorialist is still my fave

Every time I look at this photo it just makes me happy. Some kids are just born to pose. I, on the otherhand, was born to close my eyes in every single photo that is ever taken of me.

(BTW- I know this photo is like a year old but I just came across it.)

New babies are my fave

// 0 Comments

I have a new baby nephew! Congrats Karen, Greg and Reagan. Little Skyler is a keeper. Being the youngest in the fam really pays off when all of your sisters have babies you can enjoy before you have some of your own.

Makeovers are my fave

June 23, 2008 // 4 Comments

The makeovers in July’s Oprah magazine were amazing. I want someone to give me a makeover so bad. I’ve asked Ryan to sign me up for What Not To Wear numerous times but he says I don’t dress ugly enough. How’s that for marital support?

Olympic commercials are my fave

The tears were instataneous when I first saw this one. Only 45 days to go my friends.
