Weekly trips to the library are my fave

June 20, 2008

I’m enjoying these library inspired storage ideas. I can just smell the paperbacks.

Summer is my fave

Summer officially starts tomorrow. To celebrate I’m going to try and eat as many Otter Pops as possible and wear my swimming suit all day long. I’m also going to work at convincing Ryan that we need season passes to Water World.

(Popsicles, peaches, and waterslides- three of my summer faves)

Today I woke up thinking it was Friday

June 19, 2008

I have a lot of random images saved to my hard drive. Why? I don’t know, maybe because right click and save are so darn easy. It’s like my electronic things that I like and feel the need to keep board. Hey, at least it takes up a lot less space that my magazine piles at home.

This post is intended for Ryan who loves Tim Gunn as much as I do

MSN listed Tim Gunn as one of their Most Cringe-Worthy Men Alive. Ummmm, what? I agree with Tom Cruise being on the list but not my beloved Tim Gunn. I might have to write a complaint about this one.

I love me some little white dresses

Summery. Fresh. Lemon Scented.

Summer TV is not my fave

We have three channels. We can not bask in the goodness of summer cable shows like Project Runway and The Next Food Network Star. No, instead we watch So You Think You Can Dance and Bachelorette until the summer ends and the glorious 30 Rock returns and then we purge of all the disgustingness that we put up with in the summer. Don’t get me wrong, I embarassingly admit that I like these shows, they’re just not high quality.

Rest assured, I will not be watching these shows this summer:
I Survived a Japanese Game Show (I give this one about 2 weeks before they pull the plug)
Deal or No Deal (because it is on ALL THE TIME and it’s the same show EVERY TIME)
Wipe Out (I’m not really a fan of boys getting kicked in the junk humor)
Celebrity Circus (self explanatory)
Moment of Truth (is it really appropriate to applaud because someone answers yes to the question, “Have you ever cheated on your boyfriend while blaming your mom for not raising you right and eaten a whole carton of ice cream by yourself?)

I should probably go enjoy the great outdoors during the summer instead of complaining about the sad situation our TV is in. Bummed.

June 17, 2008

I just came across this photo and wanted to share since it brought a smile to my face. Just sharing the love because I want my life to resemble a Coke commercial.

Still working on the apartment

Our apartment is coming together slowly but surely. I want to do a picture arrangement above the couch similar to Dooce’s kitchen wall. I don’t know if there’s enough perfectionist in me to spend the time arranging each frame without them looking a little skiwumpous. My question is, am I allowed to hang both photos and art prints on the same wall?

Lotta Prints is my fave

June 16, 2008

I checked out Lotta Prints: How to Print With Anything, from Potatoes to Linoleum and instantly fell in love. It’s just my type of book; simple, straight-forward instructions that convince me that it really is easy to be as talented as Mrs. Jansdotter. Now I’m considering making a few art prints for our apartment but I’m a little hestitant thinking they’ll probably turn out way too amateurish and people will come in and say, “Oh, I didn’t know you had children. What lovely artwork they’ve done.” I actually don’t know anybody who really talks like that so maybe I’m safe.

The above pics are some of my favorite pages from the book.
