I’m taking a little blogging break during the holidays. I figure I’m going to be too busy rockin’ around the Christmas tree. Have a splendid holiday time.
I’m wishing I could eat a Santa Claus cake with you today. Have a good one. Thanks for always putting up with your little sister and her kookiness. Oh, and also, thank you for introducing me to ABBA and the West Wing and taking me to see Enrique Inglesias. I kind of owe you.

And this Vanity Fair article and photos make me love her even more. Her embarrassing dance faces are classic. Oh, and she was apparently dancing to Beyonce. I like to tell myself in my head that we’re best friends.
Here’s a little Christmas gift for you- another installment of What I Love About Me. Katie is a friend of mine who lucky for me just moved into my apartment complex. Now I’m finding more reasons to stay unemployed when I have a buddy so close. She’s a terrific person inside and out (so cliche but true) and I’m happy that she decided to participate today.
So I really want to participate in your “You are beautiful” campaign and am feeling uber shocked at how difficult this is for me. I could say silly things like, “I love my finger-nails,” or “I love my little ears” but to me that’s not really a deal maker. My 14 year-old sister would tell you that she loves her butt the best. And then she’d expand and you’d be busting a gut in T-minus 5 seconds. I’ve been really fortunate to grow up having a mother who would tell me nearly daily that I’m beautiful. And it never ever felt redundant or like she was just saying that. But the fact she did that made all the difference for me. If ever I look in the mirror and think that I’m ugly I instantly feel ashamed because I know that’s one of the biggest lies I could tell myself.
Here’s my deal maker (sounds like finger-nails and ears, but it’s not on the same playing field), I love my nose and my lips. When I was younger I wished my nose was more like a ski jump nose, but now I love my slim straight nose and it’s the perfect nose for me! And I just like that my lips seem to be the perfect size, not too small, not too big. Now if only I could get into the habit of wearing lip gloss! Wait, I also love my boyish body shape. I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Maybe this wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. (Thanks Mom and Melanie)

Christmas countdown time. I have jumping beans in my stomach I’m so excited.
Amy Butler is offering free holiday patterns on her website right now. The snow mum pillow and tree skirt are my top two picks. Time to work on my sewing skills or more like my lack thereof.
