I sort of threw a baby shower a couple weeks ago. I say sort of because due to a family emergency, I wasn't actually able to be there for the day of the shower. So the actual throwing of the party came more from Lisa, a woman who rivals Martha for her domestic abilities, and Natalia, who's been mentioned here before because of her pure awesomeness. Luckily they took lots of photos to share with me and due to the numbness of my fingers from folding paper cranes, I felt like I was there in spirit.
The invite was designed by Natalia and included a piece of origami paper and instructions on how to fold your own crane. Amazing, right?

the cranes were scattered throughout

the expectant mother, Katie
Didn't it turn out so cute and summery? I hoping for some more babies so I can throw another one.

I love the "sort of" throwing a baby shower! So funny...great pics & love the glass beverage holders.
Cake pops? So cute - I love the colors! Are those lemons holding up the little signs - very clever.
so pretty! you did a fantastic job with the cranes.
The only thing that would've made this shower better would have been your presence.
Love the cranes and onesies! This is such a cute idea!
the cranes are such a unique touch!
You have just inspired me to throw a baby shower! Now, if I only knew someone pregnant right now...
Oh my goodness, those invitations are fabulous! And I have been officially inspired to start a crane folding spree...
I love the photos. I'm sorry you weren't able to make it but it looks like it was a huge success! so many beautiful details. And I love the iron-on decal onesie idea! I'm totally stealing that whenever someone has another baby!
:)
I love it!
I need to learn how to make paper cranes...I want to decorate everything with them! :)
Wow, it looks so fancy.
I threw a friend a baby shower a few years ago and we made onsie desgins with cloth-friendly paint and stencils. Some people were so creative with the stencils they looked like little pieces of beautiful art!
