I love the oversized photographs hung in this house. The ocean one is so serene.
PS Did you see all the art in Jen Beckman’s apartment? Swoon. I love 20X200.
I just posted about this a few months ago but I’ve had a recent surge in readers (hi new readers!) so I decided to mention it again. My sister and her husband have been recently approved for adoption and now we’re all just waiting and praying. So please, if you know a friend of a friend or a friend (or someone even closer to you) who is considering adoption, please direct them to their online profile. You can also learn more about them on their blog. And I’ve added a link in my sidebar for future reference. I know I talk about really frivolous things but I can’t emphasize enough how important this is to me. Family is the greatest blessing in the world.
Before the summer completely escaped me, a party had to be thrown. My party planning partner and I stuck with the theme of a traditional birthday party and tacked the un- onto the beginning since it technically wasn’t anybody’s birthday. It had all the usual fixings…
I know that one day when I have kids there will be at least one over the top party thrown by me that the kid doesn’t truly appreciate and Ryan will roll his eyes at, but I need to remember how fun the classics are. Musical chairs is back on my favorite games list.
Update:
- I forgot to mention that the cake was made from rice krispie treats so it was easy to form.
- The Skittle game is simple – pass dice around, when you get doubles you approach the bowl of Skittles with your straw and bowl and start sucking as many as you can into your bowl before the next person in the circle rolls doubles. The person with the most Skittles in their bowl at the end is declared the winner.
Chello weekend.
My ever trusty side kick (actually I’m more the side kick and she’s the hero) Natalia designed the invites for our unbirthday party last week. To mix things up a bit, we decided to have a pass along giving system where we each invited a couple and then they invited a couple and that couple invited one more. Get all that? That way we were surprised with the guest list. This is what they received -
I know interiors were all the rage (all the rage meaning all that I posted about, not necessarily the best use of the term) last week but when I came across Dos Visits yesterday I was oohhing and ahhing as if I were watching a New York firework show. Complete side note: “Sky rockets in flight…. afternoon at night.” The Swedes really know how to mix their white and pretty wallpaper.
Apartment Therapy is another one of those resources that is impossible to edit down. Every tour does give you hope that even the ugliest of apartments can be transformed into something fantastic. Just look at all these goodies.
The end.
Sometimes I’m a little crabby on the usual Monday morning and then I open up my Google Reader and realize it’s sneak peek day. Guaranteed awesomeness.
Note: I had to severly edit this list of images down. I could post an entire month of them.
