Happy holidays! What's that you say? It's not December yet? I guess Colorado didn't get the memo. We are up to our ears in snow and I'm kind of grumpy about it. Fall never gets a chance around here. Winter always has to come in and interrupt. Right now these three things would really cheer me up.
1. Hot chocolate on a stick - also known as stick of joy
Instructions on how to make it posted on Giver's Log
2. A mini pie - preferably raspberry silk but I'll take apple, and it needs a little wooden utensil on the top

Hmmm I've always wanted to like hot chocolate. And I've always wanted to like pie. Maybe I would like hot chocolate sticks, and MINI pies... :)
Whoa, way to go Colorado! We don't even have snow yt in Sweden!
Hot Chocolate on a stick? I will have to make this. Sounds like Colorado needs a toasty blanket big time! I like the stripes on that one.
Oh, I love your faves today. You're making me hungry. I want one of those little pies. I was going to ask, it's snowing where you live and noticed that you live in Denver, Colorado. I live there for a year when I was 20-21. I had a great time there, but the weather was quite odd compared to Washington State.
I'm with you. No snow, but Seattle has been so cold and wet lately. I think hot chocolate on a stick and a mini pie would make anything tolerable.
thanks for the mention. and in such good company! i'm thinking warm thoughts for you.
I have been reading your blog on reader for awhile and had no idea you lived in Colorado. Me too! My boys and I have been enjoying our last two snow days & I am not looking forward to sending them back tomorrow. Love your faves list....mmm toasty blankets and hot chocolate on a stick. Perfect for this weather!
i love you melanie! i wish we could trade places for a few days. it is so HOT here today and all i want is to snuggle on the couch, light a pumpkin spice candle, and sip on a pumpkin latte! My body is so confused... it knows it is october and is wondering why i keep taking my pants off to stand in front of a swamp cooler...
I saw that hot chocolate on a stick at givers log and also thought it was a brilliant idea...gotta try it.
What amazing photo's - all made me want to snuggle down for the night with 'milk and cuddles'! (Little boy I taught once said he did that every night before bed and it has really stuck with me!:) )
Please send some snow UK bound - would love it right now.
xx
Holy hot chocolate on a stick. what a great idea.
i know just how you feel! we too had a lot of snow in the past few weeks....missing out on fall colours as all the leaves died on the trees before they turned to pretty hues of orange, red, and yellow... :o(
hope you enjoy a snuggly day wrapped up in a warm quilt with your ryan!
i'm a (relatively) new reader, and didn't realize you were a fellow coloradan! i originally hail from loveland, spent a lot of time in denver (used to work for mayor hickenlooper). i'm currently living abroad in canada (where, incidentally, we haven't had a lick of snow yet). now that i know we're from the same state, i have yet another reason to love your blog!
i like fall in missouri.. most of the time i want to live somewhere else, but am sooo thankful of all the wonderful seasons here.
i might just try those hot choc. on a stick tonight after corn mazes! happy halloween.
Oooh I saw those chocolate sticks on givers log and decided I'm making them this weekend. And I'd be slightly grumpy too if it was snowing here already. I got grumpy enough that summer didn't get a chance in Oxford, but I couldn't handle missing autumn!
Okay, where do you find all of these fab ideas? The hot chocolate on a stick is genius!
I made the mini pies in a jar you posted a while back for a dinner party and they were a hit!
I made this for a Halloweed party today and everyone was so impressed. It was so easy too. Good for parties!

I didn't mean to put Halloweed, I promise. :)
Look at those sweet little pies - hmmmmm, good!
I can't imagine snow right now. I am going to make you jealous right now when I tell you it is 78 degrees outside where I am. And the last few days/nights have actually been what we call cool! Before it was like 90 during the day and humid at night. Last night it felt freezing cold outside to me, but it was probably like 65 degrees, haha. sometimes I do wish So Cal had real seasons though. I'm sure the snow is beautiful in Colorado, even if it is inconvenient and cold...
anyhoo, those pies look so adorable! and I have never heard of hot chocolate on a stick but I want some :)
I know what you mean - I'm in Colorado too! Fall is my favorite and it was gone in a millisecond this year. Too sad, but what a lovely little millisecond it was.
I've been complaining all day about the rain where we are and I keep trying to remember that I could be where you are! I'll take rain any day. Love the things you found.
