We’re headed out to Grandma Z’s farm to join 76 other people for Thanksgiving dinner. And they’re all family. I kind of think this is the best week of the entire year.
Be back Monday looking a little heftier and with a little list of five winners.
Oh my goodness me, Natalie Jost’s little shop, Olive Manna, is filled to the brim with things meant to be in my possession. Plates with a bunting pattern? If I was getting married I would register for a whole set of them.

I’m sorry if you don’t watch Project Runway. Not sorry that this post will bore you, just sorry that you’re missing out on Tim’s wittiness and Heidi’s mispronunciation of words.
So, was anybody else confused at the outcome? I went into it knowing that Irina was bound to win but after I saw the collections and heard the judges comments, I thought one of the other two would be crowned. This is what I was hearing:
What the what? Did I miss something? Did they just edit it to steer us into believing Irina was going to get booted? I mean, her collection was well done but she was so not Miss Congeniality. I just wish Carol Hannah won. At least now she can focus on marrying Logan and opening a shop together with pretty gowns and slouchy hats.
Back in September (sorry, I’ve been busy craigslisting card catalogs and seeing how many cardigans I can stuff in my closet) I won a little pay it forward giveaway from Meghan. So now it’s my time to pay up and choose five people to receive a little prize. But wait just one second eager beaver, before you sign up there’s a little catch. If you’re one of the five chosen, you have to promise in return that you’ll pass along prizes to five other people. Because if you don’t, I will hunt you down and take your prize right back.
Sound like a plan? For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, November 25th. Oh, and don’t think that the prize has to be a solid gold chocolate bar. A fun postcard or batch of cookies would suffice.
I’m currently performing a little before and after action in our apartment and I’m seeking inspiration from these alternatives to framing art.
Also, I really love, I mean really love the short carts popping up in grocery stores. And there’s your random thing you didn’t need to know about me for the day.
A couple sources for really big round balloons:

Just note that they are a bit pricey to blow up but they’re fun to have around. They’re reflecting our twinkle lights right now and it’s an instant Tuesday night party.
I’d thought I share a little idea that maybe a few of you would like to adopt. You know those friends you have that have a specific talent (or several) that you would just love to learn? I have one such friend, Natalia, who is a graphic designer and I admire her work greatly. I wanted to learn the basics of graphic design so I approached her with a proposition, if she taught me a few things, I would watch her kids for an equal amount of time that she spent on the class. It worked out pretty swimmingly and we both enjoyed the classes and chatting for a bit each week. Plus, the only cost was our time.
So friends, I’ll teach you how to make an incredible loaf of wheat bread if you … well, what would you love to offer?
Congratulations Pretty Swell, your fabric flower garlands have successfully taken over the #1 spot on my Etsy wishlist. I would like a dozen or so to adorn my apartment.
Love them as much as I do? Heather is hosting a giveaway this week for one lovely strand. Go try your luck.
