Our Labor of Love creates some pretty impressive photo booth backdrops but I'm especially fond of the fabric streamers. Question is, where do you get loads of fabric on the cheap? Maybe I could get a job at Joanns for the discount. I would be the worst fabric cutter ever but I've heard quilters make good friends. Actually I totally made that up. I think I was thinking of Virginia is for lovers and that still makes no sense. One too many mini candy bars for me today.

Love that they won't get ruined by rain, like the crepe paper styles would.

We have a place in Philly called Jo-Mar that has super cheap fabrics, you might have something like it near you. Or Ebay!

Hah, you are so funny! I just bought a junk-ton of pretty patterned sheets from goodwill and (after I boil that delicious goodwill smell out of them) I hope to use them for my wedding table cloths. Maybe I can use the leftovers like this! That'd be *awesome*.

Those fabric streamers are gorgeous! Good point though, that would require a lot of fabric to get all of that layered goodness!

I'm a sewing drop-out, but with woven fabrics, you can just create a snip, and tear from that along the grain, and you don't have to cut! It will tear straight.

one word: remnants.

That is totally a party I want to be at.

How fun! And, ditto on the remnants! Most fabric stores have really good sale sections. And Joann usually has decent coupons that you could couple with the sale items for awesome deals.

When mom was here, we made some napkins and did just what Saltina said--snip and then tear along the grain and it comes out so much better than if you try to cut.

I agree with the comment above that says sheets from goodwill, you could get some awesome color combos!

fabric streamers....genius!

you can sometimes get good fabric via blankets, table cloths, & actual bolts of fabric @ goodwill or some other thrift store. i have a friend who made super cute pillows out of an old table cloth she got there for $2!

in phoenix we have a place called SAS fabric by the yard, which is super ghetto and unbelievably fantastic for all kinds of cheap fabric and notions. a fraction of the price of joann's, but you have to be ready to dig and don't expect the employees to be of much help. there must be something similar in your area. now i must run to sas and find some fabulous fabric for my own fabric streamers. thanks for the inspiration! and i love the rambling at the end of this post. brilliant.
