The longing for spring is running rampant through blog land and I’m not immune. Florals, skinny belts, blouses, feminine blues – you’ve inspired me to be all girl when the weather warms.

I’m quite smitten with this birthday party. No massive, symmetrical macaron display, just simple charm. I think my favorite part is the birthday girl’s beaming smile.

Apparently I’m feeling like hanging stuff this week.
I promise to stop talking about the Olympics next week but until then, The Highfliers a photo essay by Ryan McGinley is helping me make it through three straight nights of ice dancing.
While visiting my sister I found out her friend had a pull down ice cream machine in her basement so I promptly invited myself over to experience my dream come to life. While talking about it, all of my dessert obsessed sisters and I made this list:
“I would rather own a soft-serve ice cream machine over…”
- hot tub
- sauna
- soda machine
- pinball machine
- ping pong table
- pool table
- air hockey table
If anybody has $1000 to spot me, I just found one on Craigslist.
I told you they were tops.
I’m warning you now, the following photos will not do my family’s Olympic party justice. There was no pro lighting or styling that took place. But it’s kind of for the best because if I posted pro photos the jealousy of not being part of my family might be a little out of control.
What the guests were greeted with (courtesy of my awesome sister Gina):
Other menu items included Canadian pizza, maple leaf sugar cookies and curling fries with gravy.
All the kids participated in a Olympic obstacle course and then were awarded medals. This is my cute niece Ryley standing in front of the well crafted backdrop created by her fave aunt (stating the obvious: that aunt is me).
I hope you’re enjoying the games as much as I am. Have a golden weekend.

Does anybody else think the new figure skating scores are really confusing? And that Plushenko needs to settle down his arm movements and his half mullet/half bowl cut? Oh well, we must press forward.
