I love these images of a Canadian Thanksgiving celebrated at Marche St George, a general store in Vancouver. They’ve got that cozy and non-fussy, dang I want to be invited to that party thing down. Makes me want to pull out some cable knit and eat something hearty.

See more here and here.

When I was little my parents always let me pick out a piece of “penny candy” at the general store we went to in the summer in Massachusetts. Your pictures made me nostalgic!

My goodness. This is a friend’s friend shop and I always want to go SO BAD, but it’s UPHILL (I say that in a whiny voice). I need to go. I just hate hills. I only have 3 gears on my bike. Also, I’m asthmatic. Also, I have so many great excuses.

I’m absolutely smitten-how do I make my apartment look like that in time for turkey day?

Love these photos – especially the first one! Who’d have thought a general store would make such a pretty party setting?

Believe it or not, the actual store is even more charming in person. I’ve only been once, but the people are so nice and there are so many wonderful things they have on display. Plus their iced tea (which is cold tea) is the best I’ve ever had.
