If you haven’t heard the news yet, we’re having a boy!

I think every girl dreams of having a baby girl to dress up in frilly things and to be their little shopping buddy and I thought maybe having a boy would be somewhat of a disappointment but the minute it was confirmed, I felt so much joy. I can’t possibly imagine this baby being a girl now. He’s going to be my little sidekick who I dress in grandpa cardigans. I also keep on imagining a mini Ryan with tons of hair and it cracks me up. Yay for baby boys!

PS See our little buddy’s profile right here.

Congratulations! I have long stalked your blog (YOU are my fave – ha!) and have been silently cheering you on with your pregnancy. I’m a huge fan of finding out the gender of my babies and I too had a boy first. It’s awesome – you will be a great mom and I’m excited for you. Enjoy dreaming about your little boy on the way!

I’m speaking (writing) from experience here: boys are tons of fun! They also care less about what they wear than girls, so you can have influence for a little longer :) Congratulations!!

OH how sweet, a lil boy, congrats!! Boys are way more fun in my opinion. I’m the only female and love my boys to pieces. There’s nothing like the love between a mother and her sons. Our two pets are boys too, sonic our jack russell and phineus the gecko. As the only gal, i get lots of love, they give the best hugs!

Oh and I’m always at the the gap and old navy, our 1 year old Tristan just received that very cardigan but blue and gray striped {he will be wearing it on thanksgiving}, you should check out the fam photos i’ll be be posting on my blog. I feel like boys get the short end of the stick on selection of clothes in store but they do have really cute stuff. I must agree they also don’t put up such a fight about what to wear either, my 6 year old could careless! Have fun

A BOY! I didn’t know and now I’m pumped for you. In fact, my mom and I just spent an hour in the baby section at H&M last week, and while I was in love with all the pretty little outfits we got for Iris, we couldn’t help but squeal over the boy clothes and wish we had someone to buy them for too!

and he is most definitely going to be the most stylish babe in the neighborhood, I have no doubt :)

Hooray for little boys! I was actually convinced that I was having one and, like you said, was super pumped to have a mini-version of my husband (because, really, having more of him in the world was what made me want babies in the first place!). So then when we found out we were having a GIRL…I was shocked for a while. Now that my daughter’s here, I can’t imagine ever thinking I would have a boy! Funny how things work out. :) Enjoy playing the name game now that you know!

Woohoo!! As a mom of 2 boys I think your body made the right choice. :) There is nothing better than a cardigan on a boy and although you might think otherwise, you can always find one. SO excited for you!

I have a little boy, and they are magical. We would love a girl too, but I am so so glad I have a boy. There’s a certain frenetic joy to them. Plus, on the slightly sexist side, it’s easier to pass things down from a boy to a girl.

Melanie, I haven’t been around for a looong time, but I wanted to tell you how absolutely THRILLED for you I am that Baby Blodgett is now not just a prayer, but a baby boy growing bigger and stronger every day! Hurrah! I hope you’re relaxing, putting your feet up, and enjoying the new Mindy Kaling book.

Melanie, There is nothing better then the hugs and kisses from your sweet baby boy. I love my daughter with all of my heart, but it’s just a little different and oh so sweet when you’re holding your little man. Congrats!
On a more materialistic note, enjoy dressing him for the first 2-3 years, after that all he’ll want to wear are sweatpants… trust me.

Ohmigosh, yippee! Who doesn’t love a little boy? So much mischief, so much love :) I actually have a new nephew, and I’m fairly certain I might love him more than any other boy I’ve ever met in my life! I’m covering him in kisses now because someday he’ll be in middle school and think I’m nuts.

    Congratulations!

My son is seriously awesome (even at 9 months!) and even though I do sometimes mourn the big floral headpieces and ruffly butt dresses, I LOVE the little cardigans and plaid collared shirts. :)

    Hello & Congratulations!!!

I’m expecting 2 baby boys, and I definitely felt the same way when I found out they are boys! everyone had kept telling me they would de-fi-ni-te-ly be girls, and so I had already happily imagined our little family with twin girls. I was even a wee bit scared that I would be secretly disappointed in case they turned out to be boys… But the minute I found out they are in fact little boys, I was so, so so happy!
Boys are just so much FUN!
    And YAY for grandpa cardigans!!
    (and mocassins!) ^_^

    [[HUGS]] & Good luck!
